My Story
Hi, I’m Rachel Fletcher — an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a special interest in oncology nutrition and a deep respect for the people I work with.
If you’ve found your way here, you might be feeling overwhelmed by the amount of nutrition advice out there — especially when you’re already coping with treatment, fatigue, or changes in appetite. My role is to help you make sense of it all and find a way of eating that genuinely supports you — your treatment, your recovery, and your life.
Over the past decade, I’ve supported clients through every stage of cancer care — from diagnosis and treatment to recovery and survivorship — across public hospitals, private clinics, and multidisciplinary teams. I’ve seen the courage it takes to keep showing up through rounds of chemo, radiation, surgery, or transplants, and I never take that strength for granted. It’s an incredible privilege to walk alongside people at such a meaningful time in their lives.
My approach is grounded in evidence, but always shaped by you. I know there’s no one-size-fits-all way to eat well — especially when you’re dealing with nausea, taste changes, or just not feeling like yourself. Together, we’ll explore realistic, achievable strategies that fit into your world and make eating feel manageable again.
I see food as so much more than fuel — it’s comfort, connection, and part of how we find joy, even in hard seasons. My aim is to help you nourish your body and your spirit, to restore a sense of trust in what you eat, and to help you feel confident that your nutrition is working for you, not against you.
Professionally, I’m curious and thorough — I like to ask questions, explore new research, and stay up to date with what can genuinely help my clients. My background includes oncology, gastroenterology, surgical, and critical care nutrition, and I’ve led projects improving how we identify and support people at risk of malnutrition. I also teach and mentor other dietitians, helping build confidence and skill in cancer care.
But what matters most to me isn’t just the science — it’s connection. Every person I work with brings a story, and being part of that story is what keeps me passionate about this work. I’m continually humbled by the resilience I see every day, and I’m grateful to play a small role in helping people feel stronger, nourished, and supported as they navigate treatment and beyond.
If you’re feeling unsure where to start or just want someone to help you make sense of your nutrition right now, I’d love to meet you. Together, we’ll find a way forward that feels clear, achievable, and right for you.
My goal is to provide innovative, compassionate, client-centered care, customising advice to each client’s unique situation to optimise their nutrition
and improve their overall health .
I’m dedicated to making a difference in my clients’ lives, helping them navigate life with the best nutritional support possible.
