What to expect
First Appointment
During this session, we'll start by clearly identifying your health and nutrition goals and what you hope to achieve by focusing on nutrition at this time of your life. Once we understand your “why” we can move on to beginning to understand the very essence of you, including your current eating patterns, nutritional status, individual needs, any diagnoses, medical history, lifestyle, and personal preferences. Following this, we'll start examining aspects of your lifestyle and eating habits that contribute positively to your goals, as well as those that may be impeding your progress
You'll receive a menu of strategic, staged nutrition recommendations designed to maximize success without imposing drastic lifestyle changes. You'll take the lead in deciding which areas to prioritize first, and we'll discuss how to gradually implement these options one step at a time. Our focus will be on impactful dietary interventions that have been shown to prevent or manage specific health conditions, emphasizing sustainable adjustments for long-term benefits.
Throughout this process, I will offer nutritional education to address your questions, offer rationale for my recommendations, and consider and involve the needs of other family members as needed. We will also anticipate and plan for challenges that may arise, particularly during stressful or busy periods, ensuring you feel supported as we work towards your optimal health and well-being.
By the conclusion of the consultation, you'll have a personalized ‘roadmap’ detailing the steps necessary to reach your health goals, along with a gradual, staged approach for implementation with 1-3 specific tasks to start working on. We'll then schedule a follow-up appointment to track your progress and address any additional support needs, such as involving your GP or specialists if necessary.
Follow up Appointments
During a follow-up appointment, we'll begin by briefly revising your current situation, including eating patterns, dietary changes made, new or ongoing symptoms or side effects, any changes to your medical conditions or health situation.
We'll also reassess the appropriateness of your health goals and the roadmap we previously outlined, ensuring they align with your current circumstances. Periodically, it may be necessary to reassess and modify your nutritional goals in response to changes in your circumstances or if you find that your priorities have shifted. We'll review your progress, revaluate your goals, and adjust your nutritional strategy accordingly to ensure it aligns with your current needs and aspirations, meeting you where you are in your journey.
Next, we'll discuss your progress with implementing the strategies we identified during our previous consultation(s). Based on your achievements and readiness, we'll review and tailor the next steps in your journey towards your health and nutrition goals.
Additionally, we'll troubleshoot any challenges you've encountered during implementation and develop strategies for setback management, ensuring you continue to progress towards your goals with confidence and support.
At the conclusion of your follow-up appointments, you will maintain focus on 1-3 specific tasks to continue your progress. Subsequently, we'll arrange for another appointment to monitor your advancements and address any further support requirements.
